Simple Money NZ (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a fee-only financial planning practice based in New Zealand, operating at simplemoney.nz.

- Technical data including IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically when you browse our site
Clients
In providing financial planning services, we collect the personal and financial information necessary to develop your financial plan, including:
- Identity details (name, date of birth, postal address, email, phone number)
- Financial information such as income, expenses, assets, liabilities, KiwiSaver and investment details
- Tax information, including your Prescribed Investor Rate (PIR)
- Goals, risk tolerance, circumstances, and personal context relevant to your financial plan
- Payment and billing information for invoicing purposes

- Directly from you via contact forms on our website, emails, or consultation calls
- From documents and information you provide as part of the financial planning engagement
- Automatically via website analytics tools when you visit simplemoney.nz

- Respond to enquiries and schedule consultations
- Assess your current financial situation and formulate financial advice tailored to your goals, including preparing your Statement of Advice
- Implement agreed investment or financial strategies

- Communicate with you about your plan, your portfolio, or our services (appointment confirmations, document delivery)
- Send marketing communications or newsletters, where you’ve given your consent
- Meet our legal and regulatory compliance obligations, including under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009
- Improve our website and understand how visitors use it
We won’t use your information for any purpose inconsistent with these purposes without first obtaining your consent.

Simple Money NZ is bound by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services to maintain strict client confidentiality. We won’t disclose your personal or financial information to any third party without your explicit consent, except in the circumstances described in section 6.
6. Third Parties We Work With
We use a small number of trusted third-party tools to operate our practice. Where these tools process your personal information, we’ve taken reasonable steps to ensure they handle it appropriately.
Google Workspace. We use Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, and Docs) for email communication, document storage, and day-to-day administration. Data processed through Google Workspace is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Calendly. We use Calendly to manage appointment scheduling. When you book a consultation, your name and email address are processed by Calendly. Their privacy policy is available at calendly.com/privacy.
ProjectionLab. We use ProjectionLab to model and illustrate long-term financial projections as part of our planning work. Financial data used in modelling may be stored within this tool. Their privacy policy is available at projectionlab.app/privacy.
Hnry. We use Hnry to manage invoicing and tax administration. Your billing details (name, email, and invoice amounts) are processed by Hnry. Their privacy policy is available at hnry.co.nz/privacy-policy.
Hazel.ai. We use Hazel.ai, an AI-assisted tool, to help prepare client documents. Personal and financial information relevant to your plan may be processed by this tool in the course of producing those documents. All AI-assisted documents carry a disclosure statement and are reviewed before delivery.
Kit. We use Kit for client communications, newsletters, and updates. If you subscribe, your name and email address are processed by Kit.
WordPress. Our website is hosted on WordPress.
We may also disclose your information to:
- Product providers: NZ banks, KiwiSaver providers, or investment platforms where necessary to implement your chosen financial strategy
- Regulatory bodies: the Financial Markets Authority (FMA), if requested for audit or compliance purposes
- Dispute resolution: our external dispute resolution scheme, Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL), if you make a complaint that requires their involvement
We don’t sell your personal information to any third party, and we don’t allow third parties to use your information for their own marketing purposes.

We retain client information for as long as necessary to deliver our services and meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations (typically seven years). When information is no longer needed, it’s securely deleted.

From time to time, we may send newsletters or other marketing communications to people who’ve expressed an interest in our services. We’ll only do this where you’ve given your consent, and every communication will include a clear option to unsubscribe.
If you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by following the link in any email or by contacting us directly.
10. Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct any information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or professional obligations we may have to retain it
